Sail into historic exploration with Key West Art & Historical Society curator & historian Dr. Cori Convertito aboard the luxury sailing catamaran Argo Navis
On Friday, November 3, Cori will lead an illuminating morning seafaring excursion presented by Key West Art & Historical Society aboard the luxury catamaran S/V Argo Navis, departing from the dock at 0 Margaret Street at 9:00 a.m. and returning at 11:00 a.m.
Passengers will enjoy Bloody Marys, mimosas or non-alcoholic beverages along with lite breakfast fare as Cori explores the merchant dependence on the historic Key West Bight from its early establishment by merchants arriving from New England and the Bahamas. Varying industries and businesses headquartered themselves in the protected recess in the island’s coastline ranging from shipbuilders, wreckers, spongers, lumberyards, icehouses, shrimp cleaners and fishhouses.
Space is limited to 50 passengers – early registration is recommended.
