In Focus - Photographs from the Permanent Collection
Online Exhibition

To celebrate its recent photograph digitization project, the Key West Art & Historical Society presents this online photography exhibition drawn exclusively from the Society’s permanent collection. In Focus features more than 60 photographs that showcase the depth and variety of the museum’s rapidly-expanding collection. The Society has been collecting since its establishment in 1949 and now houses over 7,500 unique images.

These remarkable photographs navigate the broad themes of the exhibit, revealing the transformation of Key West from the Civil War era to the present day. Images that appear in this online exhibit were selected by the Society’s curator and the photograph digitization volunteer. They concentrated their efforts on selecting images that have not been seen before, and images that have an outstanding narrative associated with the photograph’s subject matter.
