Free Outdoor Screening A Streetcar Named Desire

Tropic Cinema

March 6, 2024 | 6:30pm-8:30pm

Celebrating Tennessee Williams Key West Festival with a FREE Outdoor Movie Night featuring A Streetcar Named Desire, one of Williams’ most popular works.
Whether you’re looking for a special date night or a unique night out with friends, outdoors at Tropic Cinema is the perfect place to kick back, relax and unwind.  Bring your folding chair to sit and watch the movie on Eaton Street in front of the big screen!
Based on the play by Tennessee Williams, this renowned drama follows troubled former schoolteacher Blanche DuBois (Vivien Leigh) as she leaves small-town Mississippi and moves in with her sister, Stella Kowalski (Kim Hunter), and her husband, Stanley (Marlon Brando), in New Orleans. Blanche’s flirtatious Southern-belle presence causes problems for Stella and Stanley, who already have a volatile relationship, leading to even greater conflict in the Kowalski household.
About the event:
• The movie will be played outside, so please dress accordingly.
• Please don’t forget your folding chairs to watch the movie. The movie will be playing outside on the street and begins after sunset (after 6:30 p.m.)
• Concessions will be available from Tropic Cinema
