COAST IS CLEAR MUSIC & ARTS FESTIVAL RETURNS IN DECEMBER

Celebration Marking Close of Hurricane Season Features Lineup with Internationally Acclaimed Bands

July 28, 2021 – (Key West, FL).  The stage is set for the fourth annual COAST Is Clear Music & Arts Festival to return to Key West, FL on the weekend of December 3-5, 2021.

The locally organized event, orchestrated through a new collaboration between two island arts organizations, Key West Art & Historical Society (KWAHS) and Coast Projects (COAST), will celebrate the official closing of hurricane season on December 1 through a collection of cultural gatherings across the island.

The festival’s main event, an all-day concert, will take place on Saturday, December 4 at the newly renovated Parade Grounds at Fort East Martello located at 3501 South Roosevelt Boulevard. The line-up includes the four-time 2020 Grammy nominated band Black Pumas from Austin Texas, as well as other indie-folk rock heavyweights Phosphorescent, Langhorne Slim, Rayland Baxter, SUSTO, and Liz Cooper.

Said Coast Projects owner and festival director, Billy Kearins, “We’re really so excited to get these events going again. The collaboration between us and Key West Art & Historical Society started in late-2019 and our first show together was planned for March 2020 but was ultimately canceled due to the COVID lockdown.” He then added, “So when things started to settle down this summer, we took up the conversation again and both agreed to just go all-in with a big kick-off for the festival at the brand new space at Fort (East) Martello.”

The Parade Grounds at Fort East Martello will provide a spacious, newly landscaped open-air field for concertgoers to enjoy with the stage set to a backdrop of the Atlantic Ocean. Inside the historic fort, attendees will have the chance to peruse a local arts market where a smaller stage will be set for local bands to play throughout the day.

Other festival events are planned for the weekend including intimate VIP shows, gallery openings, shopping specials, and more throughout the Bahama Village neighborhood in Old Town, Key West.

General admission tickets and VIP passes go on sale Friday, July 30 at noon. Full details on the event and a link to tickets can be found on the festival website, www.coastisclearfest.com.
