Handwritten note by Perucho Sanchez gives more details, 'Painted by Emigdio Reyes - born Key West of Cuban parents. Very famous. This painting was one of the many his painted. This picture is or was at the corner of Green [sic] and Elizabeth where the lobster house restaurant. He was a good cartoon artist. The fishermen were from Canary Island. I like for Tom [Favelli] to keep this picture for a good friendship. P.S. No engine on the boast - no gas - no ice in those days. Keep the fish live in the well of the boat. Mr. Demerit own the fish house.'
