Tennessee & La Dolce Vida: A Garden Party Fundraiser
Garden Soirée & Museum Fundraiser
An Evening of Italian Romance, Southern Charm & Theatrical Intrigue
Tennessee Williams knew something about the art of living – and the art of longing. Drawn to Italy’s beauty, atmosphere, and theatrical spirit, he found inspiration in a country where passion runs deep, beauty is everywhere, and life itself can feel like a grand performance. Italy also found its way into his imagination and onto his stage, providing the evocative settings for works including The Roman Spring of Mrs. Stone.
This year, we invite you to experience a little La Dolce Vita – the sweet life – through the eyes of one of America’s greatest playwrights.
Set amid the lush tropical gardens of 1207 Whitehead Street, the home of Dennis Beaver and Bert Whitt, founders of the Tennessee Williams Museum, our annual Garden Soirée celebrates the life, work, and enduring legacy of Williams while launching the Tennessee Williams Key West Festival.
Imagine an Italian-inspired garden under the stars, a perfectly poured Aperol spritz, delectable Mediterranean-inspired hors d’oeuvres, and live music drifting through the warm Key West night. Add a generous open bar, a silent auction filled with tempting treasures, and a few delightful surprises, and you have all the ingredients for an evening of romance, indulgence, and theatrical flair.
So embrace your inner Italian sophisticate, dress for a glamorous garden affair, and join us for a night where Tennessee meets La Dolce Vita. Raise a glass, savor the moment, and help preserve the legacy of a playwright whose work continues to captivate audiences around the world.
