On Saturday, November 21, the Key West Art & Historical Society presents a morning sailing excursion exploring Mission: Iconic Reefs, a large-scale effort to restore and protect Florida’s Coral Reef. Departing at 10:00am from the dock at Sunset Pier, adjacent to Ocean Key House at 0 Duval Street, the voyage returns at 12:00pm.
Passengers will enjoy Bloody Marys, mimosas, or non-alcoholic beverages along with a light breakfast while Andrew shares stories from more than seven years of working in the Florida Keys and over 2,000 scientific dives supporting reef research and restoration. Drawing on his experience with NOAA projects and field-based restoration efforts, he will explore how scientists monitor reef health, evaluate restoration success, and use data to guide the future of coral conservation.
