We walk or ride our bikes down Simonton, Southard, Whitehead, and Fleming street without giving much thought to the streets’ namesakes or the history belonging to each. This lecture will take attendees on a tour of the island’s streets, learning a bit about the people the streets are named for, the streets’ historical importance and notable buildings that were used by merchants, residents and businesses.
