Winter ArtCamp! | A Victorian Stroll through Key West

Winter ArtCamp! | A Victorian Stroll through Key West

Fort East Martello Museum

January 2 – 5, 2024 | 9:00am – 3:30pm each day

Join us for a four-day ArtCamp! that explores the daily lives of people in Key West during the late 1800s.  During this live-action history camp, students will make Victorian crafts, play historic games, and learn about the art and history of the island.  Field games, teamwork, and strategy will all be used during the week to build lighthouses and fortifications, aid the town after hurricanes and the great fire, and learn about the USS Maine.

ArtCamp! is for children aged 5-10 and takes place at Fort East Martello Museum, located at 3501 S. Roosevelt Blvd.  Campers will be both inside air-conditioned classrooms and outside on the Parade Grounds.  This camp will be led by the Society’s education specialist, Kassandra Collett.  In addition to registering online, parents will need to fill out an Emergency Contact Form, Release Form, and Camper Code of Conduct.  This will be emailed to parents and guardians after registering.  For additional information, contact education specialist, Kassandra Collett at 305-295-6616 ext. 504 or kcollett@kwahs.org.

This project is sponsored in part by the Department of State, Division of Arts and Culture, the Florida Council on Arts and Culture and the State of Florida, with additional support provided by The Helmerich Trust.
