Tennessee Williams Poetry Competition


Poets are invited to submit a 30 line or less poem about Tennessee Williams and include reference to this years Birthday Celebration theme  “The Library”.


Submission is limited to one poem per person. Three published poets will serve as judges for the event. They will be given copies of the poems without names of the contestants.

Submissions will be accepted January 1st 2019 –  March 1st 2019

The first place winner will be awarded $200 and the second place winner $100.

The winners will be honored and asked to read their poems at the March 27 Birthday Reception from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Tennessee Williams Exhibit, 513 Truman Avenue.

Last year’s winning poems were published in an on-line journal.

SPECIAL NOTE: Members of the Key West Poetry Guild will celebrate the poetry of Tennessee Williams with readings from his work at the Key West Public Library, 700 Fleming St. March 13 6pm Free to public
