July 4, 2018— (Key West, FL). Key West Art & Historical Society continues celebration of Hemingway’s legacy with a showing of Brian Gordon Sinclair’s “The Hemingway Monologues: Life and Death in Key West” 

The celebration of Hemingway’s literary legacy continues Thursday, July 19, from 7:30pm to 9:00pm with a showing of “The Hemingway Monologues: Life and Death in Key West,” which was filmed on location at the Hemingway Home and other Key West landmarks, and narrated by Hemingway scholar Brian Gordon Sinclair.

Following the film, Sinclair, who is considered the foremost dramatic interpreter of Ernest Hemingway in the world today, will introduce and discuss “The Hemingway Monologues: An Epic Drama of Love Genius and Eternity” a 7-volume series of plays which he wrote and has performed on stage since 2001, five of which premiered at the Hemingway Days Festival in Key West.

Highlighting the evening, Sinclair and author Cristen Hemingway Jaynes, Ernest Hemingway’s great-granddaughter, will present Canada’s Hemingway on Stage Award,” which is traditionally presented to an individual or group for dedicated service to the memory of Ernest Hemingway and for raising awareness of the literary and social contributions of the Nobel Prize Winning author.

Funding for “The Hemingway Monologues: Life and Death in Key West,” event has been provided through a grant from the Florida Humanities Council with funds from the National Endowment for the Humanities. Presented by Key West Art & Historical Society, tickets are free for Key Society members, $5.00 for non-members.
