Program Aide Training for Teens @ Fort East Martello | Key West | Florida | United States

Youth aged 12- 16 are invited to attend our Program Aide training. Once your child has completed this course and received their certification, they are eligible for a 20% discount on future camps. The program emphasizes leadership skills, creativity, team building and most importantly fun! By acting as role models for younger campers and assisting in leading different aspects of the camp program, it is our goal that the PA’s walk away having learned new leadership skills, and understand what goes into making camp an unforgettable experience for the young people in our care.

PA’S Training sessions include:

  • Identifying personal skills, interests, hobbies, and talents (Vision Board)
  • Team-building activities and a day of paddle-boarding
  • Conflict resolution
  • Health and safety for self and others
  • Body language and Effective communication-counseling techniques and best practices
  • Basic child development and Behavior management
  • Time management and punctuality
  • Prioritization of multiple tasks

PA’s will improve their leadership skills and creativity, by being given the task of planning and executing their own activity to teach at camp.

PA’s will enjoy unique activities and trips tailored to their interests.

Camp Details
In addition to registering online, we will require a more detailed form for emergency purposes. The ArtCamp! 2018 registration form and Camper Code of Conduct will be emailed to you and must be completed before the commencement of camp.
Camp starts at 9:00 AM and ends at 4:00 PM. To ensure the comfort of your child throughout the day, we have included a list of essentials. Please pack these items in a beach bag that can be left at the camp. The bags will be kept in a designated storage area. It is important that all items be labeled with your child’s name. This year the Star of the Sea Foundation had kindly offered to provide free lunches for your campers. The menu will change from week to week. A sample menu has been included with your registration package. If you would like your child to receive lunch at no additional cost, please check the appropriate box on the registration form.
