Join Ann Rothstein-Segan Ph.D. for a lunchtime lecture as she discusses her father, renowned documentary photographer Arthur Rothstein and the stories behind his photographs made on assignment across the US and beyond, during his distinguished 50-year career.
Ann Rothstein-Segan holds a Ph.D. in interdisciplinary studies focused on the application of expressive arts for healing and social change. She is dedicated to promoting her fathers legacy and is currently presenting to schools in Monroe County as part of the Key West Art and Historical Society’s Primary Sources series.
Dr. Rothstein-Segan is visiting Florida to launch her fathers latest exhibit, Stranded in Shanghai 1946, at the Jewish Museum of Florida- FIU (March 13 to May 20). Arthur Rothstein’s descriptive photographs and captions tell the story of 18,000 central European Jews who escaped Nazi terror to find tolerance and temporary sanctuary in China during World War Il. Dr. Rothstein- Segan collaborated on exhibitions that feature this fascinating story at the Jewish Museum in Prague, Czech Republic (2016), and at the Festival of Tolerance in Ljubljana, Slovenia (2017).
