The Custom House
281 Front St, Key West, FL 33040
Embrace peace, feel the love, and share an important message with the world in a public, flash-mob kiss-in on Valentine’s Day at the Custom House Museum.
Rally your loved ones in front of the 25-foot-tall Seward Johnson “Embracing Peace” sculpture located at the foot of the museum at 281 Front Street.
Don’t be late, the photo and party ends with a Kiss promptly at 6:00PM!
The goal is to fill the street in front of the Museum on Valentine’s Day with a crowd of couples emulating Johnson’s “Embracing Peace” sculpture, which was inspired by photographs taken of a sailor and nurse locked in an immortalized kiss in Times Square, New York, celebrating the end of World War II – an image that has been called the most famous kiss in American history.
“In a time when their seems to be so much anger and separation, let’s show the world that Key West embraces peace,” said KWAHS Operations Manager Shawn Cowles. “This “Kiss-In” pose will only be for a brief second but will share an important message with the world.”
