Island historian Sharon Wells will lead a trolley tour that visits significant island sites which are related to the famous author’s decade in Key West. These include, but are not limited to: the National Historic Landmark Ernest Hemingway Home; the historic Trev-Mor Hotel; Sloppy Joe’s Bar; the original Sloppy Joe’s (now Captain Tony’s Saloon); the site of the former boxing ring that the author frequented; the local site where Hemingway’s papers and memorabilia were discovered; and the waterfront locales memorialized in “To Have and Have Not”.
The tour will end at the Papa’s Pillar Key West Distillery where participants will be given a private tour of the facility, learn about the rum making process and enjoy a tasting of the blonde and dark rums.
