The sculpture was generously donated to KWAHS in 2005 by Dave and Cheryl Copham and has since resided out front of the Custom House Museum.  Visitors to Key West frequently enjoy taking photographs with the sculpture, however, these close encounters with Hemingway have caused damaged over the past 8 years.  During his brief visit to the island, Jones successfully managed to repair the fishing rod in Hemingway’s hand as well as giving the sculpture an overall cleaning.  KWAHS was extremely grateful to have the artist in town to carry out the repairs.  The Society looks forward to preserving the Hemingway statue for many years to come.
